Chrysanthemums

We produce traditional chrysanthemums, multiflora chrysanthemums and 3-colour multiflora mixes in 19 cm and 15 cm pots, for sale up to 1 November.

Chrysanthemums are easy-care plants. Ornamental varieties are more striking than their wild counterparts and often have a pompom or button-like appearance. Browse our gallery to discover the different types of chrysanthemums we offer.

Poinsettias

We produce the well-known Christmas stars for sale up to 24 December, in 15 cm and 12 cm pots, in a wide range of colours in addition to the traditional red.

No plant evokes Christmas quite like the Poinsettia, thanks to its iconic red varieties, although other colours are also highly appreciated and increasingly sought after. One example of this growing demand is the Princettia, with its distinctive pink shades.

Poinsettias belong to the Euphorbiaceae family and are perennial plants, meaning they can live for more than two years when given the appropriate care.

Manjericos

Manjericos are a variety of basil (Ocimum basilicum), recognised for their compact shape, intense fragrance and strong connection to Portuguese tradition. Particularly popular during the Festas dos Santos Populares – the traditional Popular Saints festivities (Saint Anthony – 13 June, Saint John – 24 June and Saint Peter – 29 June) – manjericos are mainly used as decorative and symbolic plants and are traditionally given with popular verses celebrating love and friendship.

In addition to their ornamental value, manjericos retain the aromatic characteristics of basil and can also be appreciated for their fresh, natural fragrance. At Plantalgarve, we produce manjericos for the Popular Saints season in 10.5 cm pots, supplied in trays of 15 units, ensuring uniformity, quality and an excellent presentation at the point of sale.
