At Plantalgarve, sustainability is an integral part of the way we produce. We strive to carry out our activities responsibly, combining plant production with environmental protection and the efficient use of natural resources.
Among the measures we have implemented are energy generation through solar panels and rainwater harvesting. Rainwater is channelled into a pond located on our premises, which over the years has developed into an ecosystem rich in biodiversity, where a variety of fauna and flora coexist.
We adopt the principles of Integrated Pest Management and promote biodiversity in our greenhouses through the introduction of beneficial plants, such as sweet alyssum, which contribute to the biological balance of our production ecosystems. This approach forms part of responsible plant health management, based on continuous crop monitoring and the adoption of best agricultural practices.
The responsible use of resources is also a priority. The trays used in production are collected, washed and disinfected for reuse over several production cycles. At the end of their useful life, they are returned to the supplier for recycling and recovery, promoting a circular economy approach.
In addition, we maintain an ongoing commitment to the efficient management of water, energy and waste, as well as compliance with applicable legal and environmental requirements.
At Plantalgarve, we believe that sustainability is built through concrete actions and continuous improvement, contributing to the preservation of natural resources and the creation of value for our customers, employees and community.
